2. Skin Care

Direct sunlight and tobacco smoke are two of the main causes of skin problems.

When direct sunlight strikes the skin for any length of time, cells are killed; elasticity is lost and even destroyed.

Poor dieting and lack of body cleanliness cause irritations to the skin.

For excellent skin care, I offer the following guidelines:

  • If you need to be in the sun for any length of time, wear sunscreen.
  • Avoid exposure between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Drink plenty of filtered water-at least eight cups daily.
  • Smile, laugh, be positive and happy.
  • Exercise daily or at least four times per week: aerobic and anaerobic exercises. Pilates are also highly recommended.

  • Get sufficient rest at night. Meditate about 10-20 minutes prior to sleeping.
  • Use skin products appropriate for the PH Balance of your skin.
  • Thoroughly remove make-up prior to sleeping.
  • Bathe daily to open skin pores – skin is one of your breathing organs.

  • Diet: Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, such as: Apples, Grapes, Pineapple, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Lemon, Grapefruit, Oranges, Apple Cider Vinegar, Strawberries, Blueberries, Bananas; Aloe Vera, Bee Pollen, Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Celery, Cucumber, Flaxseed, Ginger, Garlic, Kale, Collards, Parsnips, Parsley, Radishes, Spinach, Tomatoes, Wheatgrass, Brewer’s Yeast, etc.

  • Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly to avoid chemicals and pesticides or use organic produce.
  • Reduce your intake of sugar, caffeine, and alcohol.
  • Use laundry detergents that are free of perfumes, dyes, and chemicals – harmful chemicals cause many types of skin diseases.

  • Receive Dr. Kim’s special skin rejuvenation acupuncture treatments and herbal remedies.
